INDIAN NATIONAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION FOR FILMS (INSAF)

“To establish and operationalize a science film society of India under the banner titled “ Indian National Science Association for Films (INSAF) of which, apart from filmmakers, members would be drawn from the scientific community and those who believe in creating scientific temper through the medium of audio-visual with the objective of promoting science film making in the country and to devise strategies to sustain the movement” (Item XIV of ‘Memorandum of Association’ of START)

SCOPE

  • Enable members to generate their own science film content and disseminate it to a network of peers and wider communities.
  • A platform for ‘social media science films’
  • Gather feedback on the content.
  • Provide a system of ‘searchable terms’ for science films in the country.
  • Members can collect right science information and content to ‘tailor male’ their on-line science film.
  • The association would evolve a system through which the members could ‘congregate’ around a contemporary science issue of public interest. 
  • The association would create ‘science film literacy’.
  • The association would accommodate and respond to changing nature of social interaction on ‘social media’.
  • The association would provide information and update on science films – national and international

Indian National Science Association for Films (INSAF) invites membership from science film makers as well as members from scientific community who believe in creating scientific temper through the medium of audio visual with the objective of promoting science film making in the country and to devise strategies to sustain the movement.
